Hello all!

We’re a week away from the opening day of the big event, with 26 participants gathering at Knightly Gaming in Bathgate on the 16th of May for 2 days of Flames of War Late War enjoyment. They’ll be gunning for glory, one of the prizes (Top 3, Best Painted Army and Best Sportsperson), or even just playing for the fun of it all. In the meantime the lists are in and here they are with a short breakdown.

List breakdown

Of 26 participants, we have 19 rocking a single list and 7 ready to switch sides. When we look at “Primary” lists only, we have 12 Allied players and 14 Axis players. The splits of these by faction are shown below:

For the Axis players, Berlin: German seems to be the book of choice this tournament with the mix of tanks in the Battlegroups and Heavy Tank Training Company being a popular choice. For the Allies it’s the Bagration: Soviet book with a mix of choices across tank and infantry formations showing face for the weekend.

When we include “Secondary” lists, we have a total list count of 33, with the factions playing out as below:

Breaking the “Primary” lists down by the types of formations present in the list, it looks like infantry and tank single-formation lists are fairly balanced, with a small showing of Mechanised Infantry and multi-formation lists.

When we include the “Secondary” lists, there’s a larger showing of Infantry formations on the table.
